Top knowledge on intercultural communications
You might think that you simply work and operate in one single culture, but this is no longer true. Migration patterns, international trade, economic and political waves have all influenced our world to the point where we are no longer working in isolation to one another. Years ago, many European nations began to build economic alliances that would ensure a close cooperation and mutual dependency. What started as an economic venture grew over time from a handful of nation states to a current total of 27 member states which share not only trade, but also certain values, education, and currency.
European growth, as well as successful interaction in the larger international community is the focus of this university course. You will become an expert on intercultural communication and cultural diversity. Not only will this knowledge help you to become an informed and committed citizen, but also enlarge your career possibilities, e. g. in the field of diplomacy, economics, international organizations, development work or media.
This class requires the participation of a 14-day online seminar. The online seminar is designed to be very flexible: you can choose what time every day to login and participate, but in order to pass, participation is required daily. So please make sure that you are in a position to take the seminar.

Exploring globalization and intercultural communication In this university course, you will be exposed to major issues dealing with the growth and development of globalization. Specifically, we will begin with a focus on the European continent, and the events that shaped it over the last century. We will take a closer look at how the European project has advanced and whether it can be considered successful today. Since we live in a post-globalized world today, with major political shifts and events that affect each and every one of us, it is important to understand the dynamics of our current world. With that in mind, this course has been designed to bring you critical information about your own local context , but also about the larger world in which we work and interact. The second part of the course will focus on a broader context of cultural interaction, and specifically intercultural communication and management . You will learn how important our communication is and why intercultural competence is a critical part of your successful interactions.
